We now have a new card installed, and all is as before. I have enjoyed quite my little blog break though - but hope to have a post in a day or so. And the bonnet is nearly done, just lacking the yellow roses (which I am quite determined on!) and blue silk ties. :)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06713535191616985475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237278258771812379.post-80732768409377925852010-02-03T22:44:32.632-06:002010-02-03T22:44:32.632-06:00Praying for you right now, dear momma.

So glad I did! Your work is amazing, and your posts are very inspiring. I'm a mom of 4 girls (ages 11-4) and I'm also an artist. I have great appreciation for your dedication to being at home with your children, teaching them correct Christian principles, and still finding time to use the talents God has blessed you with! I would love to talk with you about where I may find more information on mid-19th century fashion for reference in my artwork. Again, thanks for providing such a beautiful blog!
Best,
AnitaAnitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02093103568716207683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237278258771812379.post-20887814040075802442010-01-24T19:47:02.465-06:002010-01-24T19:47:02.465-06:00Hi! In other words, bonnet trimmings were picked to compliment your skin colors. I think yellow would look lovely.

I took a bonnet workshop last February and one thing we learned is that Victorian ladies loved contrasting color combination - green & red, brown & blue, purple & orange - think opposite sides of the color wheel so I believe the yellow roses would be striking and very period.

Let's not forget, ladies, that Victorian ladies LOVED vibrant colors!

So, I say go for it - I can't wait to see the end result!!!knox1860sladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12859196705741463168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237278258771812379.post-39663990292563523162010-01-18T15:48:40.582-06:002010-01-18T15:48:40.582-06:00What about light Blue?
